Technology transfer as a prerequisite for development
Cooperation between science on the one hand, and the economy on the other, in order to transmit knowledge, transfer technology and commercialize research, significantly affects the socio-economic growth and development of a country. This cooperation is a key component of the development of Serbia's innovation system.
For this reason, four workshops were organized within project “EU support to Science and Technology Park Belgrade for service to innovative companies” (March 22, 23, 29 and 30, 2022) with the goal to provide participants with theoretical and practical knowledge in order to involve all stakeholders in the technology transfer process. Besides this, the workshops were organized to encourage cooperation and dialogue in area related to technology transfer, the development of innovation, the transformation of knowledge and research into products and services, thus contributing to the improvement of technology transfer in Serbia.
The workshops were
attended by over 280 participants, employees of institutes, technology transfer
centers, universities, faculties, research and innovation centers, as well as
startup and spinoff companies. The participants had the opportunity to get
acquainted with the processes of including research in industry and society,
the benefits of technology transfer, but also on the protection of intellectual
property and processes related to technology transfer to startup, spinoff and
spinout companies. In addition, the workshops also offered knowledge on entrepreneurial
capital, the ways in which this capital is invested, the benefits coming from research
commercialization, technology licensing, but also on the role that technology
transfer offices, innovation centers and science and technology parks have in processes
of research commercialization.
