Cooperation between science and business is the key to innovation potential

The Serbian innovation system's potential can significantly affect our country's economic progress. To exploit this potential, it is necessary to establish a solid link between science and business to promote knowledge transfer, technology transfer and commercialisation of research. Two two-day workshops focused on improving the technology transfer process was one step toward building this collaboration. The workshops were held in Belgrade in July and September 2022 and aimed to provide participants with the basic, practical and theoretical knowledge required for a successful technology transfer process.

More than 30 representatives from institutes, faculties, and research and technology transfer centres participated in the workshops. According to the participants’ opinion, in addition to the acquired knowledge about intellectual property protection, financing opportunities for technology transfer and business plans, these workshops were also helpful in establishing contacts between participants and building a network that can influence the improvement of the technology transfer process.
